YES !

For a few months now, I've been getting sent studio tracks from the first five Van Halen Albums. When I noticed them showing up on you tube I expected them to be taken down, however, it appears the amount of VH traffic in a variety of continents collectively has the algorithm blind to it.
So . . . before Alex finds out and takes it down . . . Here you go Boys and GIrls a few links and an MP.3 ripping tool to get in and out fast so you have the archive yourself to be blown away by later.

bookmark the converter and test it out and set up a file before you get going to . . .

Lastly, some of these tapes are 'sessions' and have a collection of material. You can separate them out using . . .

This way you can catalog the material, clean it up OR convert it to other formats.
Have fun, just like Dave Friedman told us, we were chasing ghosts with this tone. And in my experience so far its absolutely stunning to hear what Donn Landee has done with the guitar tones. Many tracks are unprocessed and from various microphone positions.
The last thing I wanted to comment on is that the EVH interviews are also released, like the real early ones from Jas Obrecht and they are a gold mine to listen to, without transcription. Both of these hit me at the same time and its been a mind blowing month to hear it as it went down so to speak. The time span from January 77 through January 80 is remarkable with three albums and world tours.
Its been a while, but just in time to service my own plexi and tone chase it some more , Have Fun !
