Ok, I know this has been the 'Beating of a dead Horse' topic, but, does anyone have any more info concerning this Ellsworth neck ?

I talked with Wayne Charvels son (Wayne Guitars) on the phone a few yrs back. He said that those two Ellsworth necks were the same spec (VH1 Franky and 'black' headstock BBee neck), 1 3/4 nut and 12 radius.

I assumed those necks were a flatter (15) radius, since Ed loved the flatness of the DaneElectro necks (15 radius).

rdodson, I think, stated that the Ellsworth neck was a 15 or 16 radius ?

Anyone have any new details ?

12" radi, birdseye maple slab fingerboard, very thin profile, this is where the charvel G-1 shape came from ,Mike eldred took ed's early boogie neck and used that width and back shape. IF you have ever played a old original charvel with the G-1 shape you will see why i am nuts over these guitars.
Brass nut on ed's, gibson style frets, rosewood dot inlays, brass side markers(these were common stock things on the earlier charvels too) schaller F tuners

TS, the black headstock was 100% charvel/jackson not boogie, this entire guitar was built by charvel for ed and at this time lynn of boogie was long gone doin his own thing alone before warmoth took over, grover had full control of the company(charvel) when ed summoned charvel to build the bee wayne already sold all the business rights even his own name! BTW,wayne did not build shit! all the great charvels i love are after grover took over before that they were all parts guitars boogie necks,so and so's bodies.

Yeah for years i thought wayne was "the guy" but it turns out the real genius was grover he hired a bunch of then young kids(shannon, eldred,Krauss, etc) that had a natural gift for guitar building and wayne was not even there when these charvels were built. I never tried a wayne guitar but heard they are good, I kind of feel bad for wayne cause after he right after was bought out/ left randy rhoads showed up needing a guitar for the ozzy tour and the concorde was born and with eddie throwin around the charvel name that company took off like a MOFO! wayne did not see a dime of the results
Wayne did however hook eddie up with the lynn neck and the ash body. grover had nothing to do with that, eddie hated grover with a passion!

Because Grover was selling charvel copies of the bee for $1000 and eddie was dead against it. Ed felt like by selling these he was prostituting himself to the fans and He tried to get grover to stop but at that time striped guitars were not a trademark of ed's like they are now and could do nothing about it.
Ironically years later eddie would give permission to FMIC to sell a run of charvel art series guitars at $2000 each
Someone sure has changed their views through the years!
