Yeah but they are not made from the correct wood. MusiKraft and KNE use the right kind of Northern Ash for the Franky.

Tone Slinger wrote:What fretboard radius are you gonna use Motrock ? The original style floyds are a '10 radius on the bridge. Most go with a straight '10 radius or a compound from '10 to '16. If the necks radius at the 1st fret is like a '16 radius, you will get some fret buzz on the low and high E (as well as the B) if you go for real low action.

You can order spare floyd saddles to cure this, and use a flat straight radius though. Put a A and B floyd saddle in the high E and Low E saddles place. This will 'flatten' the bridge radius. The nut radius is flat/level.

Shannon, nice looking neck. I love my Warmoth's '10 to '16 radius. Very comfortable.

I am using the same radius thats on the MusiKraft site... but I went through USA Customs. I just copied there specs and sent them to USA Customs.

I like USA custom, great bunch of guy's there. They are 'purists' though. They dont deviate much from the bread and butter/meat and potatoes ya know.

fhn-lopes I think that site is cool ! I dig the Shark body. I guess they should upload a contact # or somthing ? Hell a site but no where/way to order from :dlr: .

They made it in ash as well, but you'll probably have to ask them to use a W patern?? :what: :what:

Shit, they doesn't have any contact info in the main page, but you can add things to a shopping cart.. very unusuall...

I'm not a purist though, been thinking in a mahogany frank maybe, or ash, but I really don't care about the wood patern as I'm not going to use regular frank pickups anyways... Probably a hotter BKP Crawler or Steve Stevens' Rebell Yell..... I'll keep the VHII in my black/white mark I franky and will probably use it for drop D tunes BECAUSE THIS GUITAR IS BAD ASS when using low tuning... the 'chunk' is unbeleavable

No offense but their strat body are hideous, almost as ugly as Warmoths strat bodies. We worked closely with KNE to see that things were done correctly. We were lucky enough to have an original Azusa body to work from that was provided by a member here at metro. I lough at these sites that whip out this ham fisted VH crap while the fan boyz heedlessly eat it up, unbelievable.

Yeah, I guess that Franky body isnt exact in its shape. KNE looked right, as well as the musikraft.

I might get a Asuza Franky.

I dont mind 'fanboy's', so long as they can play REAL WELL 8) .

So, is there a difference between Azusa and a normal Franky body? I guess I don't know what an Azusa is? Is that a kind of Northern Ash or something?

Azusa was the town in SoCal where the old bodies we made. Sometimes you hear the term per San dimas. That was Azusa.

That TK is brutal. Look at the back if you think the front is bad.

Sounds like they should be able to get Northern Ash if requested; they carry just about every wood ever used for guitar making ...

These bodies, while "Strat" in nature, have very different contours than that of most Fender, Warmoth, etc. So, for example, if you use a Warmoth body for your Frankenstrat project and your masking tape wraps differently than in the pictures, that's is why. So, if you want to make a very accurate replica, you need these special contours and the ghost routing from the original single coils.

I have never purchased anything from Musikraft but their Franky body is the most accurate and detailed I have seen.

Correct on all points. Not sure why others aside from KNE are even being considered. This case is closed...

They look very similar, with the KNE appearing to be slightly more "anglular" (all KNEs seem very edged to me?) than the Muskiraft. It seems that the Musikraft is more round and accurate ... but it is $45 more expensive than the KNE.

I think its just the lighting. Pretty much identical. They each did thier own take on the Ed routes though.
