I agree and would like to add that Ed comes up with a bit more than just riffs, his ear for harmony and chord progressions are what separate him from most if not all guitarists, his indeed a composer of music....not just a rock guitarist.

one thing that this reminded me of is how diverse these guys were playing stuff from deep purple to zep to kool and the gang to sabbath to ohio players and god knows what else,eddie is not your standard rock players he had jazz/swing from pops,classical from piano training and the diverse styles of the bands set list. funk,rock,pop,top 40,metal,jazz,fusion, damn ed i think you covered everything but country thank god! :mrgreen:

They have had several replacements for Dave, but you see where all of that ended up. :D

I honestly think Dave keeps Ed in check musically. Sure he isn't the greatest singer or anything like that, but by God you know you won't get crap like Dreams with Dave. Also it seems that everything with Roth has more attitude than any of the the other stuff.

Ed is a musical genius, and has all of the quirks of a genius. I am just happy he is playing well, and seems to be finally enjoying himself.
