Would you believe he didn't tell me anything? LOL All I know is that its a humbucker that sounds freaking awesome! LOL See; Wade at MotorCity is like Friedman... they both keep there specs and there tone secrets... SECRET! Wade gave me some specs on my custom wind, but I still don't have a clue on the specs of even the Nasty Nasty that I owned. If you look around his website he only gives a description, and thats it. Nothing about magnets or specs.

Maybe Stan knows the specs on the 2nd Degree Blackbelt? Now I am curious myself!

I've talked to Wade many moons ago and remember he sayng it was a 9k ish DC output, but that he could juice it up a little bit more, but not much or it would get flubby/uncontrolled. Also remember he saying it's an A5 (just all other VH ish pups)... He told me to don't worry about the relative low DC impedance because "this sucker pushes so hard you won't beleave". That's were his own words.

Was Never able to put my hands in one BTW, kept the VHII and I'm happy with it.... untill now... Damn GAS, thanks MOTROCK

now the interesting part, it's the VERY SAME specs of the BKP VHII  identical even at the DC resistance...

IF there's anything different, it's the procedure, probably the relation between missmatch coils... if there's any...

I love my VHII, and it works NICE as a neck pup too.

This thing does have a bunch of gain. It does push the front end pretty good. Its got some GREAT freakin bass too. Very open and loud sounding. Harmonics are pretty easy with this pickup too!

Iv' found my VHII to push harder than the Emerald I had (which has 12k)... the Emerald is very soft in attack, very warm and singing, while VHII is agressive and sharper, but also great...

I'd love to try the 2nd DBB though...

That sounded pretty darn good. That amp BE-100 (Brown Eye) is whats sounding great, and 'ol Phil didnt 'butcher' the playing either. He didnt quite get the swing right on the 'ITO' riff, but he still nailed early EVH tone and vibe really well  . His guitar was even accurate spec for early EVH, like 6 screw tremelo , etc.

The 2nd degree Blackbelt is, no doubt, obviously a great pu. I loved seeing that old echoplex on the floor too. Wish he had plugged that into amp.

It's the best vh pickup out there, basically Dave voiced the pickup!helps Im sure that helps he played EVH amp and his guitar!dave has a great ear for tone!i have had my pickup for a couple years now!i got it wright after Dave was done tweaking it!!i also just ordered Dave FRIEDMAN be-100 head!cant wait to get it!

Here are my clips of that pickup

all great things to hear before getting the pu,last time i spent over $100 on a VH pup i was sorry cause even though it was good it was NOT worth the $130 i spent(EVH frankenstein model)
This time i feel i am getting more than just a VH pu,this 2nd degree BB is more than likely goin to be a great overwound PAF clone that will be good for my schenker, schon, may, etc tones too. I dont just chase VH tones,IMHO Mikes tone was every bit as good as ed's :hide: just different,i like the way mikes tone "sang" whereas ed's old tone "screamed"
