Man! Wolf is really comin' from the source on LUTS! I can't get over his rhymthm CHUGGA-CHUGGA on that! Really pumps the life into it. So punk rock. Never heard Mikey play it like that, and it's really reminiscent of the way Ed played it on that semi-acoustic interview from '78/9 that Ruben posted. They way it was supposed to feel! Fahk Yeah!

Did you watch the other video where they play unchained? I think the click during LUTS was just part of the sound check. (setting levels for their ear monitor etc....but you know all this stuff!)

wonder when where and why they use a click. the click appeared to be the exact tempo of LUTS. there is nothing to sync on LUTS.

No it was used during unchained. Watch the other video on YouTube. I think they were just checking levels or something during LUTS. Probably just a coincidence it is near the same tempo.

a very popular VH tempo. it's a tempo that is in harmony with the vibration of the earth's core. that tempo was outlawed in Paw Paw, WV just before the nudist colony took hold. and we see how that turned out!

If I remember right, the cowbell/click for Alex was present in one channel for all of the songs on the audio that was released. The video's audio was horribly distorted, hence the combo. My guess is the person who put the clip on youtube combined the two sources and edited out one of the channels b/c that cowbell was loud and somewhat annoying after a while.

that's odd. i have always thought that if you put a click track and van halen in the same room they just cancel each other out and you get nothing since the two are 180 degrees out of phase with each other. :dlr:

Well that would happen when there were two Van Halens in said same room. Now that there are three, they can do it.
