I like the Wah, but like anything else, it can be over-used. Too much of anything = not good.

IF Ed had a nice wah sound we'd all love it. His wah sound isn't like that of TEESE WAH's Wheels of Fire or Picture Wah etc
Think Jimi Hendrix, KILLER wah or Satriani's use of wah -Killer in Love song. Ed needs to figure it out more.... Either a coil tap or a different wah ?

Ed started using the wah and sustainer as an easy fix for when his playing started being predictable. Just my opinion. I know, maybe a little harsh. I love Ed as much as you guys.

I remember seeing that Yngwie video years ago on Headbanger's Ball; It made me wonder why he wastes all that time playing the neo-classical crap when he's a SMOKIN' blues/classic rock guitarist...

Playin' modes and scales up and down the neck at lightning speed is cool to show off for your guitar buddies, but it 'ain't gonna get you laid by the ladies... :D

I think Ed is using the wah now as he did the old phaser-flanger combo. While the wah effect is different both have a sweeping style to it, except you can control the sweep instantaneously with the wah. I think the phaser and wah are the most similar, so try and imagine some classic VH songs that use the phaser and try and substitute it with a wah and i dont think it would've been THAT much different if used in the same subtle manner.

I don't like wahs other than Jimi and SRV, and Rhoads in You Can't Kill Rock and Roll, but have to say Ed does some unbelievable playing on the new album. The more I listen to it, the more I find myself rewinding to hear this or that part.
At it awhile, still learnin'
