T.L. that was my thought. Whether Ed got a guard dog or an Ibanez Destroyer...if he TRADED it, he HATED it. LOL

Re: Chris Holmes amp Ed connection?
That amp is 100% legit!!!
I know Chris, and the Animal/W.A.S. dudes...Holmes sold it to get back to L.A., and handle some legal issues. It was given to him after he lent Ed his Destroyer, which he got back, and is seen it that video.
I believe the amp was sold for 2000.00...Holmes always used the furman eq in front of the amp for his tone.
Holmes has, or had, more marshalls stored at his moms house. If he hauled that one to Cincinnati I would assume it was his favorite... I was told he didn't want to sell it, but had to handle that shit in L.A.
BTW.... he is still alive and kicking ass in the band Where Angels Suffer (W.A.S.)
I hope someone here buys the amp, $5000.00 is a steal.

Re: Chris Holmes amp Ed connection?
I would be inclined to believe that this was a legit Chris Holmes amp...but the craigslist ad plainly states that Chris got the amp in trade for a 1975 Ibanez Destroyer. It doesn't say that it (the amp) was given to Chris after he loaned Ed the red-orange-pink Destroyer for the Women and Children First sessions. Interesting that Chris never mentioned this amp in the interview he gave to The Inside about the loan of the red Destroyer for the WACF sessions. He seemed very forthcoming about the whole story, but yet this amp being given to him in trade for the loan of the guitar is never mentioned.Mr_Pink wrote:That amp is 100% legit!!!

There is no provenance for this amp having anything to do with Ed. If Chris says the amp was his, I don't doubt that, but the Ed connection is tenuous at best. I'm sure it is a great sounding amp and it is especially cool for W.A.S.P. fans if the letter from Chris is indeed authentic.

Re: Chris Holmes amp Ed connection?
From what I remember he sold this amp on ebay very close to the time that article came out..The fact that it came from Ed was mentioned, but not the main selling point...Holmes does not look at him the same way we do. That was hard for me to understand because he is such an idol to me. I would always ask about the old days, and got very little info. To him he was a really cool guitar player from down the street, he looked up to him,but not like us.
I did not read the COA to see if it was a trade, or gift, but it really doesn't matter...cool amp, and as far as I am concerned very historical. I would like to know where it ends up. Also, Holmes never mentioned Jose or magic marshalls either.
All I ever heard him play thru was this god awful zoom thing he was recording with for a few years. The Destroyer(red), and any other heads were kept at his mom's place. He really had nothing from W.A.S.P. except a couple of Jackson Rhodes type guitars, and Lita Ford took or destroyed everything else...She smashed up the Budwieser Star.
