ZZ's latest-killer tones

Post by dirtycooter » Fri Oct 19, 2012 2:51 pm

If you get a chance check zz's latest. The song "Flyin High" is totally AC/DC tone right on the money but its Gibbons manipulating it. Also dig how he has recorded and treated the tone-its spread left and right but it sounds much more organic and natural than what they did to the last vh record. Wonder what his recipe is in the studio?
Also some other very vintage killer tones and fx on the record.
Not vh related really but killer Marshall tones! A must hear for sure

Agreed on the new ZZ Top album, back on form - great songs, great tone and the playing is always top notch (its the Rev)

Sounded like the riff/lick in 'Rough Boy' there at the end of that.

The Rev and the fellas never disappoint...though I do wish there was more booogie on this album...but it kicks the tail of most everything else out there!
