12,000 Series Volume 1 Push Pull Bright Cap Switch

Newbie here so be gentle. After exhaustive research I picked up a used Metro-Plex and a 12,000 Series recently. Very happy camper. However, the 12,000 Series did not have the volume 1 bright cap switch. Does anyone know if this feature was included on all of George's 12,000 builds or was it added later?
