12000 series plexi replica review online

Many thanks to David at LegendaryTones.com for his glowing review of that '68 replica 100 watt. It's now with George Lynch for further scrutiny.

Congratulations, George. I´ve never seen such a glowing review of anything:

"The Metropolous 12000-Series Plexi amp does exactly what the best Marshalls will do – it is voiced and feels perfect. And you don’t have to try and hunt down an old one to try and gamble to find one that has the magic tone. It’s all been done for you here."

"Now, what we have here with Metropoulos Amplification’s ’68 12000 Series Plexi is the very first amp that we’ve played that absolutely nails the tone of the same original series of Marshall 100 watters. With top notch construction and attention to all the most important details, the ’68 12000 Series Plexi plain and simply delivers the early Marshall 100 watt plexi tones like no other amplifier we’ve heard."

Great thing is: You don´t have to brag! You have people for that 8)

Ties in nicely with my looong post: http://www.metroamp.com/forum/viewtopic ... c&start=15" where I wrote (Among many other things!)

"I first came to your site from reading the review on legendarytones.com.
Get some more. Send a complete amp to Guitarplayer... "

Now, if you could get one to Guitarplayer just after their rewiev of the HW it would be really cool.

A great achievement, George: The guy basically writes that your quest for the perfect Marshall tone is over: You can buy an old Marshall for $$$$, and hope it will be magic, or get one of yours and be sure it is !

george well done. I like the mod with the two voltages really interesting personally on the amp i am going to build with your kit won't do that as i am a complete amateur but i like the sound of a PA type superlead.

btw what is the difference between a super pa and lead apart from more vols and inputs.

just remembered i would need to get the panels custom designed not only for the extra dials but the fuse rating on the back.

hmmm i really need a job to be able to afford this

The PAs looked different depending on when it was made as well. From what Ive seen most PA's look more like Super Basses then Super Leads.

Congrats, George!

The JTM45 borad review is what led me to Metroamp.

Now, how the hell I'm I gonna decide between the 45/100, '67 and 12000?

Thanks guys. I should have taken more pics, but there was a deadline for getting the amp reviewed and sent to George.

Here's a crappy inside shot. Taken before the voltage mod was added. Which I prefer not to show anyways....
