I bought a 68 #12 series made by George, and am thinking adding a effects loop.

Would that be hard for me to intall on my own ? what about a master volume ? could someone give me some advise

Thanks

I would start by looking at the master volume and loop kits in the metro store, read the installation instructions, and then the linked threads about each kit. That should cover most of the basic questions and give you a good idea of what's required to add them to your amp.

Neither is difficult to do.

You are helped that your amp is up and running

Just read the instructions several times with the parts in front of you before you go near and open amp. The trickiest part is measuring the operating voltages and replacing one of the dropping resistors to get the loop at the correct supply level.

As long as you measure, check and remeasure, take your time and solder/desolder neatly both tasks are pretty straightforward.

Take care to line the holes and stuff up before you do it. I lined all my jacks up on equal centres (so it looks like a four output jack amp and did not install the loop off/on switch - I can't hear if it is off or on when I installed on another amp so on mine I left it off.

Take your time do not rush it and ask questions regularly. The loop designer Steve (SDM) is very helpful.
