Tube Sockets

What would be some reasons to change out a tube socket.....

Insulation breakdown, chipping, arcing, base breaking away from metal surround, metal surround fatiguing and breaking away from chassis...

Sometimes they even go microphonic.

The#3 pins on my power tubes move alot,you pull on them just alittle and they come way out of the base,This is my 1963 Bandmaster.

As long as they still have a reasonable contact area on the pins when pushing tubes in normally, I wouldn't go rushing to change them on a vintage amp. If you're concerned that they might not be contacting enough of the tube pin however, then it would be good preventative maintenance.
