I’ve been trying to finish a build using the ceriatone 5f6a layout using classictone transformers.
I am getting very low voltage readings at all tube sockets.
I have double checked that all the resistors on the board are the correct value and tested all of them. But I am still losing voltage somewhere.
There is a 100k resistor on the standby switch and I am not sure of it’s purpose. On one side of the standby switch I was getting 400volts then on the other side after the 100k resistor I was getting around 100volts. This doesn’t seem right to me.
Can anybody suggest what I need to do?
Many thanks

Re: Fender 5f6a build
I think that resistor is for that infamous *standby pop* when the switch is thrown.
Did you remember to put that .047 uF 630V cap across the mentioned resistor?
You could remove the resistor and power it up and see how things fly.

ok, so I've worked out that I need to have the amp completely on, not in standby mode to get proper voltage readings. everything is reading ok now, maybe slightly high.
Now the problem is that the amp has low output and slightly distorted, could be a number of things causing that. Bad tube, bad output tranny, wired input jacks wrong.
Not sure where to start...

Re: Fender 5f6a build
here are my voltage readings, pin 1 & pin 4 on both 6l6s seems low to me, most of everything else seems a little high, not sure about pins 2 and 7 on the v3, looks like they're half of what they're meant to be as well.
