Adding length to my used mustard caps?

I have most of the capacitors Ineed, but they are not long enough. I need to extend the length of the leads. I was thinking maybe take some solid core wire, not sure on size, strip it, then lap it or twist it and solder it. I dont want to ruin the caps. If anyone has any ideas out there i could us them!! I don't want to take from the values by adding more wire ?Any help would be great. Thanks

If the leads are long enough, what I have done in the past is make a hook on the cap lead and a hook in some buss wire (small gauge) and then hook them together and squeeze the hooks tight, then solder. Worked fine.
