1959SLP upgrades

Putting this here for obvious reasons...

I have a 1959SLP with a MM OT, and it sounds pretty good now (at full throttle), but of course who can enjoy that volume at home.

After some heavy reading here, I think what I want to do is the PPI MV and the cascade mod, but while I can solder, I know nothing about the inside of an amp, so I dropped it off with my local amp guy and pointed him to the corresponding threads.

Of course, now that the amp is in the shop, I am thinking what else?

The amp is a '93 model and is stock other than the OT.

Would it be worth it to go ahead and replace the PCB with a PTP board?

Is the Lar/Mar the MV I want? (works better with PCB or PTP?)

Can the cascade mod be performed on a PCB amp?

I apologize if these questions are basic, but again I am clueless on this.

What parts should I be ordering?

Thanks guys!

-Chris

I'm not expert, but I've done both those mods. I would consider just doing the lar/mar master first if all your wanting is lower volume for practicing and what not. It's also perfect for gigs, because you can just turn it to about 3/4 up, turn your normal volumes up to about 8 or 9 and it works great for most places.

The cascade is pretty awesome too, but I would just do that if you want a lot more gain... in my opinion at least.

There is no real benefit of PTP over PCB, other than it's a lot quicker and easier to change and experiment with PTP. PCB's generally still have the same layout too (minor differences aside).
If you fancy the idea of changing lots of times to find what you want however, PTP may be the road to follow. Especially if you think the components on the PCB could be improved upon.

I would love to say I have the time needed to learn and tweak my amps, but I have plenty to do with just guitar projects.

I want to this amp to just be tweaked and left alone.

Is there a post that shows the cascade mod for dummies? I need pictures showing the PCB and what is to be changed. I assume if I order the Lar/Mar kit, it will have the correct instructions.

Gentleman, would the PPI MV instructions on this page be suitable as a guide for installing the Lar/Mar?
