Differences between Metro JTM45 kit PTP and RI PTP boards

I have been looking at all the photos and instructions that came with my RI JTM45 replacement board kit. I noticed that on the Metro 45 amp kit there is a 16uf cap right on the board that the RI board kit doesn't have. Since I am basically electronically illiterate and am building my replacement board "by the numbers", I don't really know what to make of that. Is that component already mounted elsewhere in the 45 RI and not replaced with the PTP Metro board kit?

Exactly right! The reissue 45 has a dual filter can mounted under the component board. Originals did not, they had a single cap (most often) mounted right on the board.

The boards are very similar. The differences are primarily to accommodate the different mounting hole locations.
