Couldn't wait for a response. Plugged in the KT66s, my dummy load and a speaker. Fired it up. Biased it at 45ma and it kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!! Only mistake I made was the missing ground. Can't wait for my cabinet and scumnicos! Its amazingly clean, no hum or noise at all. I may have picked the perfect ground point by accident.

Good job troubleshooting that on your own. You're right, when you have the ground bus bar soldered to the backs of the pots, the bar is grounded through the pot casings. When you have that bar floating, you have to run a ground wire from the bar to the chassis. The PEC backs do not take solder without special chemicals, so many people use them the way you did.
