Choke options for a 1969 100w clone

Post by steves » Thu Sep 03, 2015 11:03 pm

First post on this forum, so thanks for the help! I'm starting a 69 100w plexi build and will be using Heyboer transformers. My question is regarding choke values. I have both the Heyboer C1999 8H and a Classic Tone 3H. What would be the advantages with both? Would the 8H offer a little more filtering. What was the spec of the original back in1969? TIA!

My C1999s (original, Metro and Marstran ie both Heyboer wound) are around 3H, is the one you have a special order?

The Classic Tone is listed as 3h and the Heyboer at 8h on their respective websites. Do you think the difference would be negligble?

no they sound very different. 3h is a must imho. 8h doesn't sound like a plexi to me

Thank you both. I have a 3h on order. Apparently the 8 is standard for Heyboer, I requested the 3h.
