Post by TJB » Sun Apr 24, 2011 9:05 am

Just wondering if there is a chart for looking up date codes on nos mullard mustard caps so I can figure out the year of manufacture and for matching. If no chart is availible can someone explain how to read the date code? Thanks, TJB

The letter on mustards is the year quarter A=jan, feb, march, B=april, may, june etc

The number is the year code, so B8 = 2nd quarter 1968.

This is a wild guess but after 1970 they used a number instead of a letter in the first digit to distinguish the 1960 decade from the 1970s. So, 22P would be 2nd quarter 1972, 33P would be 3rd quarter 1973, etc. I haven't seen any date codes that contradict this but again wild guess. P is likely the factory code. Scott
