Standby Switch Wiring
I assume that it doesn't matter which terminal is wired to the rectifier and which is wired to the filter cap. Is this correct?

Re: Standby Switch Wiring
No, it really doesn't matter which side of your switch goes first or second. The switch is either breaking or making the connection, no matter which direction it is hooked up.
What kind of switch are you using? Stock 50w kit? IIRC the 50w kit switches only have two lugs. Take your multimeter, and check which position the switch is on and which is off. Be sure to install it so the standby is facing the same direction as the power "off," and the "operate" (standby disengaged) is the same direction as the power "on" - that is one related but slightly off-note observation. If your switch has four lugs, again, just check it with a multimeter for continuity. A quick DMM check is easy and then you're sure, either way.

Re: Standby Switch Wiring
It is the stock switch on the 50W kit.
