Hello everyone,
I read that in order to "re-tension" tube sockets I have to use a pin or something and actually make an adjustment on the socket. When I cranked my amp before, I was getting major Feedback/noise. its not really describable just, noise. It was not feedback. I stepped about 30 feet away from the amp and removed any metal nearby. Still This noise was there ONLY when I was not playing or picking quietly. Im positive this is not a normal sound. I tried cleaning the tube pins with alcohol, and i stuck a tiny screwdriver in one of the tube sockets in an attempt tp try and tighten it without knowing FOR SURE how to do it. I do not know if I could have 'damaged' a socket but I highly doubt it. I barely applied any force. These were the only adjustments I maid lately and now instead of a terrible, unhealthy sound, my amp does not work. I have power, i hear the power transformer hum, the pilot light is on, i tried different speakers... I have all of tonight free so if someone could please send me some ideas for me to try and repair my amp, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you all.

first off BE CARFULL sticking metal or fingers on tube sockets can kill
you even when amp is unpluged!!!!!!!!!!!!
you must drain filter caps first.
check your fuses amps sometimes sound crappy right before the power
tubes blow if you have a blown ht fuse your power tubes are probably
gone when i was working on my 50watt i touched the top of the tube
socket with my hand and got knocked across the room OUCH
amp was unplugged but filter caps still had 450volts
be carefull
