Heater voltage is a little low??!!??

Post by 5150loveeddie » Tue Jul 05, 2005 2:58 pm

My heaters when no tubes in are at 6vac, when tubes are in they are at 5.8vac, is that acceptable? Any danger for that cathode ******* don't remember the world!!?

My wall output gives me 123vac in general.

my heaters were at 5.8, and I was told that was very low for heater voltages. I discovered that my amp was using the 200volt tap. My B+ was about 35 Volts low also. Hooked up the 120 tap and bam, heaters at 6.2 and B+ at 380VDC (50 Watter)

make sure you know what tap you are using. Maybe you used the 110 or 200 volt tap by accident.

On the Heyboers make sure you're using the red and the orange wires. Those are the correct taps for 120VAC operation.

If not, switch the wires around.
