Yeah, a cathode follower has no voltage gain, it doesn't boost, but it changes the output impedance to better drive the tone stack.

It can only maintain a low output z so long as its not heavily clipped.

Yea I would also be interested if there is a layout for this mod or something like it I have a Ampeg Lee Jackson model and I love it I want to make a modified Marshall jmp and take this added gain stages to the next level any help would be great in planning out my next build I hope to get started on in 2023
