Can I cut the traces right at all Pin 5's?

If you are soldering the wires from the pot directly to the pins then yes you can cut the traces. Remember to have jumper to connect V4 and V5 grids and V6 and V7 grids together. If the bugera doesn't have, then it would be good if you also installed 5.6k swamp resistors directly on all power tube grids to avoid oscillation.

Definitely post some pics, this thread will be helpful to other people with the older bugera too.

Oh, and remember to take all the power tubes out before measuring. ALL pin 5s of the power tubes MUST have NEGATIVE dc voltage on them. If you don't get negative dc on all the grids don't put the power tubes in.
