Until you try it you won't know which category you're in.
You will get a looser low end with the four ohm tap, just remember to compensate for it with the bass knob turned down some.

I tried that one wire mod a couple of times and thought it sounded pretty darn good if you want to add a bunch of gain. I used it along with my PPIMV and got some nice results.
