like the diff between a TL072 and a 4558 are they swappable in a solid state amp like a Kustom. the preamp has tl072 and what would happen if I put a 4558 in there like the pedals have? just wondering

The TL072 is a low noise op amp IC just like the 4558 and they also feature the same pinout diagram(they're interchangable). However, the TL072 has JFET inputs, which makes the input impedance of the TL072 a LOT higher than that of a 4558.

I'd replace it with a TL072 so that the input impedance to that stage stays the same.
