No Sound From My Amp

Post by Guest » Thu Oct 20, 2005 9:03 pm

Hey guys.
The sound from marshall 1987x amp used to be great. But lately its really scratchty. So i took out the tubes, cleaned em with alcohol, and tried the amp again. Now there is NO sound unless the amp is on number 10, then there is a TINY amount of sound. I tested for any loosed connections with a chopstick but that found nothing. I know I sound like everybody else but please help me if you can.. lol. Thanks a lot.

Sounds like a preamp tube took a shit on you.

Replace the preamp tubes and see what happens.

If you havent tried it yet then yeah. Amp problems are about a 1000x more likely a tueb problem then a circuitry problem.
