Marshall 1987x tuning?

Post by sam » Sun Jul 31, 2005 3:04 pm

Hi, new here 8)

I have ri 1987x amp, and need some tweaks, ppimv, 68uf in V2 is already done. Sounds good but something missing, bottom end is "lazy" and gain is "fizz". I´m looking for good overdrive sound without pedals, and yeah, it´s PCB :x .....any tips?

thanks for looking

Sounds like a perfect candidate for SoZo caps on the board. Should de-fizz that high end and give some clarity to the sound overall.

use only the 330/820ohm combo, switch to shared cathode change the resistor/cap combo right before v2a to a 330pf/270k and crank it put treble cap at 330 pf as well use 56k in the slope
