MV: why not use speaker ground?

Post by jimeehendricks » Tue Apr 12, 2005 8:30 am

In the Tom Mitchell book he describes the basic MV, the one using a 1M pot off the treble pot. He says connect it to a convenient ground but not the speaker ground. Anyone know why this is?

I would imagine to prevent noise like hum. Just ground it at the end of the preamp buss if your using one.

Some amps have an isolated speaker ground, too.
