Output transformer

Post by Trem Abuser » Tue Feb 22, 2005 3:40 pm

How do you know if your output transformer is not up to the task? I am asking because I'm converting my 30 watt 6L6 amp into a 50 watt lead amp. But the small size of the output transformer has me worried, especially since I plan on cranking the amp (through an attenuator).

I don't want to blow my amp up.

Thanks,
Scott

Any thoughts on this?

connect it and watch for any sort of fire

Sorry, couldn't resist. I got no clue. Try googling it, or go to www.geofex.com. There might be some useful info there.

Thanks, I found a part on the Geofex site dealing with OPTs.

All the stuff I'd never knew I'd have to worry about...
