Dunlop Octavio @ 18 volts..
Anyone know if the Dunlop Octavio can be run @ 18 volts, rather than 9? I know some 9 volt pedals can be run on 18v . Just curious if the Octavio can be ( just for experimental fun).

By the looks of it, I don't think you can.
The rating in the manual only states 9V, and nothing else unfortunately.

Re: Dunlop Octavio @ 18 volts..
there might be some octavio cloners out there, and i think it could be possible, with mods. i don't thionk that the circuit would die receiving 18 volts. caps, résistors, transistors, they all can handle this voltage. But now .... will this bring a better sound ? not sure.
please, if you come accross a nice schematic/layout , accurate, post it here, i think it exists.
But for an octavia tone, THE ONE ,heard in who knows and some other songs of that night .... my preference goes to a simple circuit doubler, AFTER a fuzz. and the success of this sound will depend a lot of the amp used.
my germanium octavia, very simple, brought me "right there", much better than the roger mayer's rocket octavia. but a silicon fuzz like a Dunlop blue fuzz works the best IMO, with a 45/100, for the bog tone. if i put a simple circuit doubler, three components, after that .... it would be really great.

Hi, I have buit both the Roger Mayer Octavio, and also the transfomer coupled Tycobrahe Octavia, both should run on 18V with out issues. though i dont see any gains in doing so?
