Most people just use 30uF there. The difference is probably negligible. I used 33uF from Tube Amp Doctor.

S.Marshall may have some 33uf BC caps left. That's where I got mine.

I think that .047 is fine there. I had sourced a NOS .05 from someone on the board here but it was a long time ago and I don't remember who it was. I had actually asked George about that cap when I was building mine and he said it was fine.

a 32uf cap wont measure 32uf usually. they are typically from -10% to +30%. usually a f&t 32uf will measure 38-39.
I'd prefer 38uf over 30uf in this application

Like Roe said...the .05 won't matter much but I do have NOS Erie .05 1000v if needed. Low on the BC's. May part with a set on trade for .... :?:

The F&T 30uF 500V caps in George's store work great and are about the right size as an old RS (in fact, I keep meaning to see if I can find grey shrinkwrap big enough to cover them.)
The Ruby Gold Cap 33uF (and I believe the TAD 33uF too) are made by F&T and work well also, but they aren't the same size/look as the old RS caps.

hey flames--- thank you for chimin in......

i never played a vintage 45/100 so i would like to get a close as possible
to "original" componant values, etc.

in your opinion.....would those F&T 30uf's get "close enough"? i guess it would be damn close. they're generally -10%/+30% right?

Hehe... I had some light grey shrinktubing bookmarked on ebay for a while. He wouldn't ship to Canada or something... I can't remember. It was definitely big enough, though.

@ lifer - Don't worry about the difference between 30uF, 32uF and 33uF - for our intents and purposes, they're the same. The brand of the cap matters more than those few, negligible microfarads.

the 32x32uf typically measure 38uf.
I usually get these in europe since they are cheaper here.
