Here are pics of my real 45/100. I thought these might help provide an overview. Keep in mind that there were plenty of variations in these amps. Mine is in no way definitive.

George, any evidence of yours ever having had the mixer bright cap?

No evidence that there was ever a cap on the mixers. I looked at the terminal with a magnifying glass and didn't see any sign of solder.

Interestingly enough, it doesn't sound dull at all.

I don't think my Super PA sounds "dull" without a mixer cap, but I do find I have to crank it a little more than a "Lead" amp that has the mixer cap.
