JTM45/100 Chassis Dimensions

Post by rip » Fri Dec 25, 2009 2:42 pm

Hopfully George will chime in...

But does anyone know the length of the block end chassis? Normal 100w chassis all seem to be ~26" but because of the mounting flanges and the block size the width doesn't look to be the same.

The block end chassis seems to be more like 27" long. This can be seen when looking at pictures with the back panel off, it fills the cabinent a little bit more than the regular 100w chassis. Based on what I've seen the block end chassis is 27" long with 1" blocks allowing a 26" length between mounting bolts, and a interior length of 25".

Can anyone confirm this? Or at least agree this seems right?

Thanks
Rip

It's as long as the regular chassis including the flanges. Yours should be correct. Any longer and it won't fit the box.

Yes the block end mounting hole centres are the same as the flanged type.

The head cab needs to be slightly different as the vertical rear struts that the back panel screws to need to be cut to allow the chassis to slide in. Georges JTM45/100 cabs with Vox vents are already cut like this.

I'm not sure what exactly you want to know

all dimensions are in mm, LxHxW

JTM45/100 chassis 710x270x210
JTM45/100 JH chassis 741x270x210
JMP100 (superlead HW) chassis 740x275x210
JMP100 (superlead SPL) chassis 750x260x210

See official Marshall amplification website in model specs.

These are the head box sizes. ~28" x 10.5" x 8.25"

I was asking about the chassis dimensions.

If you guys look at these pics you will see that the Chassis 1 & chassis 2 pics are the JTM 45/100, and they fill up the head box a little bit more than chassis 3 pic which is a regular 100watter. It seems like Marshall kept the same internal space (or mounting points) and just added blocks. If this is true, the block are about 1 inch thick and the flanges are only 3/4" wide. Assuming that the mounting holes on the blocks are at mid point, and the flanges mounting points are about mid point, the JTM45/100 chassis is a little bit wider.

Sooo..... the block end chassis (outside dimensions) are about 1/4 wider each side, about 1/2" total.

thanks

Needless to say they look bigger about 27". I've measured that in my head box and it looks correct.
