Who are you to say that Gary doesn't deserve either Les Paul he had/has? Most of the criticism levelled against Gary is fuelled by outright jealousy. He legally bought both Les Pauls and this 'lawsuit' is a joke Period, end of story. :o

Well said Yngwie! G. Moore is THE man!

By the way, I know it's not really the right place here to ask this but since you're THE specialist of Moore, I must ask you here:
I've got a Les Paul (1991 Standard) and a Metro JTM45 and I'm dying for Moore's sound in the Still Got the Blues, After Hours and BBM era. Do you know how I could achieve his sound (as far as gear is concerned, feel and hands are another matter)?
I've just noticed that there's a Fender at the back of the venue in the Still Got the Blues video (have I been fooled?) but can I get really near his tone with my JTM45 and Les Paul or is it too far from his gear to get any close to it? Pedals, settings on his amp?
Thanks a lot, and thanks for bringing us so much info and links about him!

Twistingcrow, you are most welcome, actually I have run into some haters on a certain LP forum and now mainly post on My Les Paul Forum , under my other internet handle Emerald.
The Marshall Guv'nor circuit which the original pedals are really rare and expensive to obtain, with your JTM 45 and valve rectification, that is the setup Gary used on SGTB, he used the #1 Marshall JTM45 reissue, the prototype delivered to him from Marshall, so you know it was well tweaked.
Gary owns an original Bluesbreaker 2X12", which can be seen on stage on the video of Blues For Greeny, and I believe he used a form of JTM45 amp on the After Hours live video, when I burn some moore copies on DVD I have all Gary Moore VHS tapes onto DVD, including "An Evening With The Blues" and the Blues Alive (After Hours) and Blues For Greeny, even Live in Stockholm 1987, my favorite of all time.
Any TS-08 style Tube Screamer can do the job, Marshall 'reissued' supposedly the Guv'nor in some other later pedals, but they are close but not the real deal, I would contact Analog Mike Analogman, as he is the pedal/effect expert. Gary has used the Soldano SLO100 live, on the normal channel with the boost pedal, a Hot Rod 50, Blues Alive, and now is using Marshall 1959HW's. Gary constantly changes his effects pedals and a visit to the fansite Lord of the Strings, out of Hungary, reveals much European information on Gary these days. Remember Gary uses the neck pickup a lot, changing to the treble pickup to open up a vibrato-ed note ala Yngwie Malmsteen of all people.Lick Library has an excellent DVD Play Like Gary Moore, as well...
Gary did use a Fender Vibroverb reissue, with a Marshall 4X12" cab, plus a Dual Showman silverface for the Blues For Greeny Live and CD recording, using the Fender reverb and his Midiverb unit live. In fact if you You Tube the Blues For Greeny videos of Gary on stage right, on his left facing out, you can see the two Marshall cabs tilted to the side. Gary prefers to use the Fender amps with the Celestion speakers, here are the PG/GM articles again:

Think of the positive milage Mr. Moore would get from giving the guitar back to Ronnie?? He could milk that one for all its worth. He did way too well on the Green guitar, so its not like he needs the $$,,or maybe he does for all we know. Bottom line is, after the crap that has come out of Moore's mouth regarding Bonamasasa, and some other bullshit rantings he has given off in interviews, he need sto start moving in a better direction publicity-wise.

Gotta love you Tonemaster...   hope no crap has ever come out of your mouth ever??
Besides if you have nothing good or positive to say, why take up space saying negative crap, just an observation, there are plenty of forums you would be better served on..
As far as Gary Moore's negative comments, what else is new??  Love em or leave em I say.

I don't know what Moore said about Bonanmassa but Bonamassa may be on Moore's level some day but he ain't right now.

Right on Chief! Bonamassa may be good, but he's no Gary Moore, my insider knowledge tells me when they did some gigs either together or nearby, Gary warned Joe that he still had dues to pay, as on the face of it, Joe attempts a Gary Moore imitation to some degree, but guitar playing wise..apples and oranges.

We all talk crap,,,you too!! That's all I am pointing out here. And as far as my opinion on the Montrose/Moore suit, I also am entitled to an opinion, just like you.
It would stand to reason, that if you were a player of Moore's age, and stature, you would choose your words carefully when being interviewed, and know that you will be quoted in print, and on the innerweb. Gary must like the taste of his own feet, because he seems to be constanly putting them in his mouth.

Listen I wrote a post replying to you how I really feel yesterday but changed it.
I have nothing to say to somebody who calls himself Tonemaster and is a newbee here and has hardly any knowledge of Gary Moore, obvious by your statements, if you want to have ago at me, bring it ok. But otherwise stay out of a Gary Moore thread.
I find you annoying at best and you have already made your point, if you have one..
Stay the #%$%% away from me, if you please...I have nothing to say to you and don't waste my time with this.

I can write circles around you about anything you care to mention, and I have a certain reputation here, you don't, so leave it be bro.

Here's a taste of typical Moore hypocricy.

Whatever is written it is on my ignore list, so I can carry on with the actual purpose of this thread, positive support of one for Ireland's greatest guitarists, next to the late beloved Rory Gallagher..Gary Moore.
Here is an absolutely great version of PW from 1982, with Greeny and the Boss DS-1 used to great effect and a clip which was brought to my attention for the first time, the Ferry Aid video in 1987. Gary plays a solo along with Mark Knopfler and he is using one of his PRS guitars. Gary was practically one of the first UK artists to use PRS guitars and his amp set up shows on the far right his awesome 1972 1992 Super Bass, which had been painted purple when Gary bought it and was restored to it's black appearance:
