yngwie308 wrote:Hey ILMM great soundclips, Ratt, Page, VH, Thin Lizzy, you have down a lot of styles and are a great player, awesome that you are getting more into Yngwie, I know when I first started listening to him, I could listen to no one else for at least a year.. !
It is addictive and his melody style and use of arpeggios, harmonic minor, leads one out of the penatatonic box so to speak.
Great Clips keep up the good work, the newest YJM Signature model guitar, from 2007 up is the way to go, bullet truss rod, machine screw neck mounting, deeper scallops, exactly like YJM's #1, of course you could really save up for the new Custom Shop Duck replica which will be out this summer, but will be a lot more coin than the $1400 for the current YJM sig.

Thanks Yng for the nice comment man!! Sincerely! I love this stuff its in my blood some people fish or hunt lol I play guitar till I fall asleep I like to make noise lol but hell yes on Malmsteen, the guy is indeed well My opinion here the best and or one of the best!! His melodies his passion and fire every bend Im like damn I want that, and I know I got a longgggggg way to go but hell no hurry.

I would die to have one of his signiture axes are you kidding me ;-) But I am poor donations welcomed lol Kidding. I did buy don't lol yet, an alder black with wht pickguard body. I picked up or going to get this scalloped neck maple fender neck brass nut and two HS-3 pups and run the two and the middle pup will be disconnected three way switch with the Tone disconnected that interview with Yng he stated he disconnected the tone to allow more impedance, one thing for sure you cant get that tone with a hummer.

Hey any good instructional stuff on malmsteen, what about this dude named Joe Stump?? I know there is loads of stuff G Pro and Power tab to get me going!!
Thanks man

Yngwie Malmsteen To Play Fender Clinic at The Dallas International Guitar Festival
Tuesday, 08 April 2008
Yngwie Malmsteen will perform live at a Fender clinic and participate in an autograph session during the Dallas International Guitar Festival on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Dallas Market Hall.

Yngwie Malmsteen is one of rock's premiere guitarists. When he was barely 20, Yngwie exploded onto the music scene with his jaw-dropping technique of lightning fast harmonic minor scalar riffing. His 1984 album, "Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force," established the style now known as neo-classical melodic rock.

Then as now, Malmsteen often worked his magic on an Olympic White 1971 Fender Stratocaster. He bought the guitar in Sweden in 1978 while still a teenager and performed the unusual and delicate modification of scalloping the fingerboard to help create his signature sound. The guitar has taken a beating over the years (and even a burning or two) as Malmsteen's main stage and studio guitar; played in countless concert appearances and used on each of his many solo albums.

With his unique marriage of heavy rock and Paganini-esque classically inspired technique, Yngwie Malmsteen has been universally regarded as a truly innovative electric guitar virtuoso. Amazingly, he is a self-taught guitarist who transformed himself from a bright but unruly Swedish youth into a truly startling musician of astonishing talent.

Some pictures of Yngwie's Duck from Fender, man this thing is beat, I heard it has had like 3 headstock repairs and it is so worn the scallops are fairly shallow:

Those scallops look good, not too big, the ones on the Malmsteen sig look bigger to me, IIRC. I'd really love the scallops on some Strat, I wouldn't do it to my LP 'cause it's a bit risky on a set-neck.

Hey Dave, I did that tiny mod on one of my Yngwie's yesterday.

Remember the guy who suggested using a piece of wire the hold the high E bridge piece to the B bridge piece? This stops the high E bridge piece from shifting, which was making the high E string move closer to the edge of the finger board.
