The story behind Albinoni's great work, is that the Allies burned the cathedral where the score was located and the charred pages were found on the steps of the building, but rescued, incredible.
Though Albinoni resided in Venice all his life, he traveled frequently throughout southern Europe; the European nobility would also have made his acquaintance in Venice, now a popular destination city. With its commercial fortunes in the Adriatic and Mediterranean in decline, the enterprising City-State turned to tourism as its new source of wealth, taking advantage of its fabled water setting and ornate buildings, and putting on elongated and elaborate carnivals which regularly attracted the European courts and nobility.
Apart from some further instrumental works circulating in manuscript in 1735, little is known of Albinoni's life and musical activity after the mid-1720s. However, so much of his output has been lost, one can surely not put our lack of knowledge down to musical or composition inactivity. Much of his work was lost during the latter years of World War II with the bombing of Dresden and the Dresden State library

Also recently the discussion was why does Fender sell the YJM signatures with the 9.5" radius, when Yngwie plays mostly 7.25"..
NO, NO, NO........ Yngwie is not playing flat 12" wizard necks like Ibanez..... Period !
As many of you know, years ago I got a chance to hold and play several of his guitars in his home and studio when we worked together.
I am friends with Larry Lashbrook and in fact Larry has asked me to attend the 2008 NAMM in LA to assist him with launching his new company making his own line of guitars.
Over the years, Lashbrook has scalloped and fretted about 130 of Yngwie's guitars.
Larry says that probably 85-90% of them were 7.25" radius necks and the rest were the more modern C shaped 9.5" radius.
He does NOT change the radius of the neck during the refretting and the only change he has made to necks is to thin a dozen or so of the really, really thick necks from the mid 70s (those really thick U necks).
I know conventional thinking has become..... "curved radius necks are bad and flat necks are good"..... but that is not entirely true.
Flat necks are a pain for chord work..... and Yes, no matter how much people like to shred, there is still another 4-5 minutes of song besides the 1 minute solo where you have to play something interesting.
Many pros also feel a small curvature also helps with bending and vibrato as the neck better conforms to the natural curvature of a hand wrapped around the neck.
Fender may have the right idea.... some article I read years ago claimed to have done some sort of research or study and claimed the "best single guitar radius" was a 9.5"
9.5 being a perfect compromise between a 7.25 for chords and 12 for tapping, scale runs, etc...
From Mike Spitzer Yngwie's manager for a brief period.

David, and Yes, no matter how much people like to shred, there is still another 4-5 minutes of song besides the 1 minute solo where you have to play something interesting.
You should place this into your signature... well said.

We are all waiting for the new album which has been taking forever, but hopefully soon, Yngwie has a South American tour which is in progress now, no US tour until after the CD drops no doubt, the official Malmsteen site, whom I've pissed of before
, they keep things tighter than a steel drum there and don't really give out much information, but that is the way of the rock business these days, it also is what limits popularity, but they don't seem to realize that!
Don't worry Malmsteen fans, whatever happens, you will hear about it first, here..

Here is Steve Vai playing the solo for Hiroshima, interesting..

That first Alcatrazz album is seriously awesome. Anyone who hasn't heard it needs to find a copy. I had to import mine but it was well worth it. Some people can't stand Graham Bonnet's voice, but I really enjoyed him in Alcatrazz, as well as his work in Rainbow and MSG.
I can't imagine a fan of Yngwie not enjoying this album.
As for Marching Out, I've owned that cd for years and have long felt it to be some of Yngwie's best all around material, but last week I found it on vinyl and it sounds even better. Alot of these albums were meant to be heard that way. Sometimes when comparing the album to the cd version there isn't that much of a difference but on this one there is. Tooth and Nail is another album that sounds way better than the cd version.
Yngwie308, nice of you to spend the time to post all of these.
