Some vids of the black Strat. Wondered what he ever did with it?
I dug the red Strat with the Floyd bridge as well, from the '85 vid.

I think he still has it (pics from a couple of yrs ago show it in his 'pile' of guitars). He should use that one more, cause a black guitar NEVER goes out of style.

Yes the black Strat is very cool, very Blackmore Black Night, ect.!!
Me likee, I want to know if the Custom Shop, not John Cruz, , would consider building the following guitar. Black nitro alder body, new YJM bullet truss rod, machine screw mounting 4-bolt neck, HS-3's in the neck and bridge, with YJM in the middle. Tone controls on the neck and bridge pickups, vintage trem, aged off-white Dimarzio p/u covers, they do make them without the dreaded ugly logos.
I would have to pay at least $500 for a 2007 and up neck from Reliable Fender, if available, a couple of hundred for the body, the electronics another couple of hundred, the hardware, bride, trem springs, ect.
Yes a Custom Shop guitar is ridiculously priced, but would they even build a guitar that is similar to an artists model. I understood they won't build a version of a current sig guitar, is this true??

Nice to see the unf##@#$d up Duck Yngve, or shall I refer to it as Fender does now by rewriting history and calling it the 'Play Loud' guitar (no trademark)
I just got my Analogman YJM308 pedal back from Outlier in Nashville and it's tone 'nails' this early Yngwie spot on and so quiet.
I have majorly enjoyed it's sound and it has encouraged my playing!
More soon..
Here is my now favorite version of Adagio, with the coolest I Am A Viking, from the Live in '85 show, seriously this pedal mod, absolutely is this tone:

I am trying to ignore all the bullshit with Yngwie's official management. I think he has been grossly misrepresented and if April is at the reins, shame on her.
This (the cover photo) is probably the work of some fashion photographer from America's Top Model or Project Runway!
Suck in your cheeks Yngwie, give us your best fashion forward look!
The whole CD Japan thing I was suckered into, that's how I bought UTF, as it took forever to come out in the states, got the Jap one right away.
I have lost what little respect for Yngwie that I previously had and it is only my love for his music that allows me to continue to buy his product.
Yngwie having worked so hard to maintain his status as the premier neo-classical guitarist, after all these years, he invented the category, far beyond what Ritchie, Randy and all the others did.
That all these sycophants are surrounding him, is almost a movie of Felliniesque proportions. I expect the scene from Julius Caesar to be next, et tu Brutus!
The official web site is the biggest piece of crap I have seen and his allegiance with Fender has turned into a spectacle of mawkish mutual fondling!
I was tempted to write a scathing post awhile back, dissing Yngwie for allowing this destruction of his career, but thought better of it, as I still like the guy as a person and player.
I feel the inmates have been allowed to run the asylum.
Yngwie needs a fan intervention of major proportion to give him a reality check. Not by Steve M. and Dudette and all those awful people who are just plain, weird.
I am continually sickened by what has gone on and have great reservations about all of it.
I have, as have many others here, championed Yngwie's music and playing for many years, against major opposition and have begun to win many who were on the fence, over to the YJM side. But I feel with the gradual decline of the Yngwie Empire, all will soon be lost. Next will be the YJM Guitar Hero game, with our hero kicking, swinging the guitar over his head and throwing it into the air!
Yngwie has almost painted himself into a corner of major self-parody, on his own volition..rivaling the obscence treatment of Jimi Hendrix by his step sister and those ghouls.
If I had a video camera, I would post on You Tube, a plea, a cry for help to Yngwie, from his fans. Please do not allow this travesty of our maestro to continue.
They couldn't take it down, if this is a true democracy, but who knows.
Any thoughts fellow mega-fans???

The cover art is a damn joke. You nailed it on the head when you say he's became a parody of himself. It's quite sad really since he has been such a huge influence on my guitar playing, and no doubt, countless others.

There was a post on Blabbermouth, when the cover was first posted, that said "I'd be less embarrassed buying my mothers tampons than I would, buying this album" Very true!

Perpetual Flame....Perpetual Burn? Jason Becker anyone?

Here is the new CD art, subject of much conversation on the internet, the guitar has been photoshopped as the bullet truss rod is missing as well as the Malmsteen signature, hardly suprising..

Other news, as I revealed many months ago, Yngwie will be inducted in the Guitar Center Hollywood Rockwalk:

Legendary Swedish guitarist YNGWIE MALMSTEEN will be inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk on Monday, October 13 at noon in front of the Guitar Center at 7425 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California.
Hollywood's RockWalk is the only sidewalk gallery dedicated to honoring those artists who have made a significant impact and lasting contribution to the growth and evolution of rock 'n' roll, blues and R&B. Yngwie Malmsteen's hand prints will reside alongside the hand prints, signatures, and faces of other equally accomplished musicians and innovators such as Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Bonnie Raitt, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder, John Lee Hooker and EARTH WIND & FIRE, among numerous others.

That pic for the new album cover looks like Malmsteens '68 copy. You would think he would have used one of his signature models for the cover. Maybe he went with the guitar he was prefering at the moment ?
