Boo Boo Davis

Post by Brandon » Sun Apr 03, 2011 2:28 pm

I just heard a song by Boo Boo Davis on my local Jazz station called "Don't Drink and Drive".

I thought the music was ok, but the guitar tone was out of this world!

Sounds like some sort of marshall to me, but there's this low/mid grind happening that just gets me off like none other. Very reminscent of :jimi:

Can someone please tell me what is going on with the guitar tone in that song?! I think he uses the same equipment for the whole album, "Undercover Boss".

Edit: album is called Undercover Blues ;)

No results for that particular song on YouTube. His other stuff on YT is definitely cool for strokin' a good swamp-jones though. I think "Boo Boo" is the harp blower. He looks more like a "Boo Boo" than the guitar player (who appears to be playing thru a blackface Fender).

Yeah his stuff doesn't seem to be too too popular (and yeah I think you're right, he's a harmonica player). Seems to be just a small time blues artist.

That song is on iTunes though, the sample they give is a good minute and a half. I'll try to find a link or upload it or something...
