Freddie King

I couldn't find any mention of Freddie King yet so here we go...my favorite of the old blues guys. Check out ANY of the 70's albums on Shelter Records. He used to come to Lubbock pretty regularly and I was in a couple of different bands that opened for him. Freddie played a 355 through a pair of Quad-Reverbs...sometimes just one but always dimed! He would make that 355 feedback could hold a note for a week! One night after we had played, Freddie's rhythm guitar player borrowed my 50 watt Marshall with 8-10 cab because his rig was down. It was woefully inadequate trying to keep up with Freddie. When Freddie was in town all the local guitar players would be there...watching...learning. I swear sometimes there was smoke coming out of the F holes in that 355!
