VH - Drop Dead Legs -outro loop- improv
Created a YouTube account for easy hassle free viewing entertainment.
I'll post to this screen name in the future...
Imported DDL into Amazing Slow Downer and edited for loop. Adjusted pitch at same tempo.
I hit play & just pressed record. Left in the hiccups to keep it real. On-the-spot improv; that's it...
Ohh... Loop suggestions to any VH tunes for me to play/improv over ALL welcomed.
Several VH Examples:
ICM solo rhythm; Voodoo Queen intro; LUTS outro; House of Pain intro; Mean Street outro; Simple Rhyme; STIL outro...
(Loops for other bands also welcomed.)

Very coolio!!!
thanks for sharing. What might be helpful for us mere mortals is to do some 'splainin' with your improv. IOW, Ed or whomever, is playing this outro in X key or over these chords, as I see it. I am playing these modes and/or arppegios over the said chords.
Makes it edumacational.

Kool !
So, I'll start doing these vid's and post them in this way which seems to favor among most. "Metroamp Approved"
Sorry for the "crying wolf" of previous vid's I posted that we so called "fixed"
They actually are fixed, but suck for realtime viewing like YouTube...
They still need to "buffer" and finally load for viewing, but in most cases "save as" the downloaded link works best so that you could open these vid's in your native or favorite player. I'll fix the other thread to reflect YouTube.
I'll not use the "white wash" as well.
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Right. I can elaborate parts or licks, whatever helps someone in their playing and understanding to help getting closer to their Hero's.
Simply recommend the song and point out what you want explained and I'll do my Best to accommodate...
I really like doing these edited loops of songs and improvising over them. A different take every time...

Jimi ~ that was SCARY good my friend. Vibe, phrasing, man sounds like those could have been out-takes from the man himself

Sounds good, but I'd say it sounds more like "you" than Ed...and that's a really good thing. You really do have a Gilmour meets shredder with some post F.U.C.K. Ed in there if I can be so bold as to break down what I hear in your playing.
Now let's hear your interpretation of the "I'm The One" at Ipswich lick! The way you recorded this has good balance on the audio between your guitar and the recording...you should easily be able to cue up the live recording of "I'm The One" from Ipswich and play along over the top as I did...

Nice !
I'm glad you approve !
yeah I'll get that Ipswich up soon enough...
So far, All these vid's I'm editing are from March 2013. I recorded that lick and will edit to fit the existing thread.
I'll do it both ways to include the TAB'd version that has the same rhythm or syncopation of ICM's opening lick...
Stand by for a 180° !
Yes yes ! Love the critique and that's how You see it... But You do know that this is just "freestyle" improv which means "Me" ? Right !? Note for note is not the intention, but.... can be arranged. Just like I did with LUTS in another thread

Thanks guys... I'll get more of these freestyle vids up !
(Suggestions "NOW" also welcomed...)
The tools I'm using are:
One of my (basswood) Fender HM Strat's
loaded with a vintage square-legged DiMarzio Dual Sound
into an M-Audio Firewire410.
Then using Amazing Slow Downer to crop, loop and edit pitch in real time.
Using Native Instruments Guitar Rig 5 through a (pc) computer;
piping through Alesis/Logitech's Z680 5.1 Surround speaker system;
captured on a Zoom Q3HD then reformatted to fit YouTube.
This is a modified patch from GR4 that Mark & I were using and re-edited with GR5 with enhancements from member OokraMoo's GR5 patch. So a hybrid of sorts. I have 2 patches you guys can use if you have GR5. PM to send via e-mail.
...more to come... finally

Effen bad ass! Loved the vid treatment and the tones and technique are fantastic. I loved it. 1984 brings me back to high school in the summer. Did a road trip to a wrestling tournament and some fishing and listened to 1984 over and over and over and over........reminds me of my new found freedom and the joy of being young with no care in the world.
Nice job!
Mike
Now I just need to dig up my 8th grade class picture where I was right in middle front row wearing my VH concert shirt. I didn't feel old until I think back 30 years ago to that moment. Seems like yesterday.

Man, I really dig the tone your getting on these clips. 'Modern Brown Sound' is how I hear it. Not really EVH style playing, but damn good none the less

COOL! effortless flow in your technique. my only critique is, I want to see you sweat a little - it can't possibly be THAT easy - hahaha...
how are you getting that tone? i know you answered that but it was a little hard to follow.

Its all "0s" and "1s"
I like the "you can do other stuff over Ed's basic riff" aspect. So it sounds like Ed but it also sounds like Mr. Jimijames!!
