Parametric EQ test video

I did a quick test between two parametric EQ's... The Furman PQ-6 and the TC Electronics 2240. I am playing through my 1974 Marshall Super Lead with the regular PPIV master Volume (Rich Mod). Both EQ's are in front of the amp. The Furman does have a noise gate after it. The TC Electronics does not. Both signal levels were the same and I tried to duplicate the EQ settings as close as I could, but the TC Electronics does have an extra band to use, so I went toward the bass side.

I preferred the first (Furman). It sounded more like just the amp and it wasn't as obvious that a pedal was used. t.c. should stick with rack studio effects and quit trying to appeal to guitarists. Their reverbs and delays are very nice but they should get out of the guitar effects business unless you want to sound like U2 or Flock of Seagulls.

Nice amps, btw.
