68' Plexi Build Eddie Van Halenesque Sound Clips (early..VH)
Well, after lots of twists and turns and a few voicing changes...Here's what I came up with. I'm relatively new to the board and have learned lots from you guys. Thanks one and all!
Guitar: Alder Strat w/ Duncan EVH/Floyd
Mic: 57 on axis direct into pro tools 002..no eq or comp just some verb for the thang...
Cab: Avatar B w/ 4 matching early G12M 25/ T1221 Pre Rola's
Attenuator: 16 ohm Hot Plate (yuk..).....I normally use an Ultimate but had loaned it to a pal for a week when I did these clips.
All in all not too bad.
I'd love to get your feed back guys!!

Thanks,..
For the most part it's pretty much George's stock 68' schem.... Mercury tranny's/ biased with 6CA7's..all Phillips Mustard (I think it makes a difference).....@90v
Only difference is my tone stack which I think it's pretty close to Ed's

I think the amp sounds really good! I have heard some good clips including this one with the Duncan EVH. I tend to gravitate to the SB tonestack as well.
Good Job!

Very close to the sound I'm going for. Very, very nice. Good work.

Your job about choosing and using gear was REALLY GREAT !
But the big thing you've done is about your Eddie-style playing. I think you know near perfection Eddie's stuff.
So, I think as first thing that YOU're great and just beside the gear you use for.

The last little step to EVH will be to catch the vibe of a young, good-lucking, all-the-beachgirls-whonna-su..-you-all night, LA-Guitar-hero in the late 70-ies !!
