Here's a quick clip I made of the stock 50 watt kit. The playing is bad, but there's a nice variety of tones from changing just pickups and guitar volume.

My Les Paul > 50W kit > '68 straight with G12M's > SM 57 on one speaker, M160 on another, Royer R122 in the room.

Channels jumped.

Vol I 10

Vol II 7

Treble 8

Middle 10

Bass 1

Presence 5

Thanks Mark. It's a dead stock kit. The Sozo caps are standard mustards.

Sounds like the most excellent Marshall tone I love.

My god, how did I live before my '69 clone??????

I haven't been around much lately, but it looks (and sounds) like things are going great over here. Great sounding amp George!!!

Killer tone, thanks for posting that. I love how these amps clean up so nice when the volume's rolled back and then just bark with the guitar turned up.

Bright cap in George? If so, which one? I just finished my 50w. kit and have to remind myself that ch.1's gotta be cranked to get past that 500pf cap tone if the volume's too low.

I love these amps!!

Man, THAT is the tone. I played thru and saw bands back in the day with '68 small boxes and the tone was the shit!! Excellent

That's what I'm talking about..I get quite a few PM's and emails from all over the world about the Mark II 50 watt tone, ideally a 50 watt chassis in a big box, to 1971 specs and this could be almsot as big as the 12000 series, I have been suggesting this all along. The interest in certainly there, it is another classic clone market, a major tone zone, the Malmsteen/Alcatrazz/Live '85 tone and with Outlier's YJM308 grey spec mod, I would like to hear a clip of a YJM signature guitar (DiMarzio HS-3, YJM pickups) through the '71 spec head with the DOD250 pedal. Watch the views on You Tube with that!!
Just a suggestion, I am not the player to post these clips, but YJM fans step up, the 50 watt section isn't called from Allmans to Yngwie for nothing!!
