Hi Guys! I have found old sound clips that I made with my '78 2204 that had a replaced Dagnall PT with 450 V B+ and my '69 JMP 50 modded to 2204 specs that also has a replaced PT, a '74 Drake with 390 V B+.
The '78 2204 (1st one) has a much tighter and clearer note attack on the low-E string while the '69 seems muddy in comparison.
Am I correct in my assumption that this tone difference comes from the different power transformers' plate voltage values?
