Jmp 1987x???

What are the difference between a jmp50 and a 1 1987x and a 1 50watt plexi made in 1968 ( I think 1987x and plexi are same ) but I want to the small difference like resistors capacitors etc. What sound I am wanting to get is Scorpions no one like you that solo sounds so much Marshall being really pushed hard ,I can't get close to that with my last years build jtm 45 plus build that I have both ss rectifier and the tube you can switch one or the other which is great and I got el34s as power tubes .So now I want to build a screamer so I want to pick the right amp model to mod into that scorpions sound on their older stuff like no one like you .Any help or info on all theses questions

1987 is just the model name for the lead 50 watts amps. A few different versions exist of that model. Like plexi panels 1987 jmp and metal panesl 1987 jmp. Even the MK2 pcb versions changed the circuit a bit.

I'm not exactly sure what the circuit MArshall uses in their reissues. Maybe someone will pop in this thread but this forum is slow at times so be patient. Or try and hunt down what Marshall reissue schematic your interested in.

I have MArshalls 1987 XL schematic.. not sure if that is the same as the Marshall X as I don't really follow current marshalls. It certainly has a few tweaks compared to the original. More filtering, more NF.. ect

thanks for the info I will do more research but I do want a lot of filtering because I was thinking of doing the one wire mod to it

how much filtering my tube depot jtm 45 plus kit is a few differnt marshalls to chose from so my filter caps are ft 47uf is this close enough to the 50 uf I have read in other places on this great board of info. would doing more filter yet than this help in any way what would it do for the sound? ? I really like the lead guitar sound on scorpions still loving you song that more classic metal/hard rock sound I have my jtm 45 plus a few mods to get the classic rock into alittle of hard rad rock now I want to turn it up a few or more than few notches and put the two heads on a A/B switch to choose what I need at the time.The tube depot build was great alittle eeeah when trouble shooting but I had alot of great help from the people here on this forum so now I want to do a more yet modded 1987 turret board build any ideas or better yet what have others done out there I want to know ,see and hear it not much of you tube videos on the one wire mod or the slash or Randy Rhoades type mods ?
