I was looking at the resistor on the high input of my Marshall 2204.
Mine is 2 megs.
I changed it out for a 1 meg.
does it matter??


something seemed weird so i put in the old carbon comp of 2 meg back in there.

Schematics will show u if nobody wants to jump in here.

I just put the 2meg resistor back in there and it sounds fine.

It can be kinda like pulling teeth to get responces here But if u ever get it its useful.

This resistor sets the grid voltage off-set on the tube and it pulls to the ground any current that present on the grid while tube is working. Since it's connected to the grid, there is no voltage drop on across it. There is no precise value to that resistor, but there is min and max values in the datasheet. It suppose to be large. 1M or 2M are fine, so both values work the same in this position.
