Marshall, the first 50 years

Post by VelvetGeorge » Wed Dec 04, 2013 8:18 pm

I got the new revision Marshall book today (ordered back in March when Amazon first listed it). Lots of good stuff added, cool pics and inside chassis shots, though most are quite small. Odd that the schematics were omitted in this revision. Well, the schem section was, there are schems in each section of amps.

Props to Roe for the inclusion of his 100 watt timeline. He even gave props to the forum here.

Is it written by Mike Doyle? I remember Mike came to Quigley Music in Kansas City back in the 1980's when the Studio 15 and the Artist 4203 first came out and gave an official in-store Marshall product demo to about 12 of us who showed up to the event, some years before his first big Marshall book came out. He also did the write-up for the Guitar World pull-out poster featuring a Clapton-era "Beano" Bluesbreaker combo as well. A nice chap, british accent and all. Showed us how you could unplug the speaker jack on the Studio 15 and plug it into the power stage line-out for a attenuated cranked sound without hurting the Marshall. Pretty cool. :hairband: :listen:
