Blues Breaker In Progress
Building a Blues Breaker amp to get back in the swing of things, need to bring my skills back up.Warming up the soldring iron before I start building a 67 and a 68 amp this summer, might need some input on the board. I'm building the BB board ala SDM does anyone know if the Turrets are to close for the Tremolo circuit?

I know, but I got a great deal. If it doesn't sound good the solution is simple.
What can you tell me about the board?

Re: Blues Breaker In Progress
Here are a couple pictures of my BB board. I wouldn't use a MM OT when the Marstran sounds better, cheaper and more robust.
I was going to post pictures but I am not resizing all my 800 pixel pictures to 722 pixels, sorry.

I used one of these on my 18w trem.
How about a close up of your board layout?

Re: Blues Breaker In Progress
I've used a MM RS-type OT before and it was a great sounding piece of kit, well worth the cash.

Re: Blues Breaker In Progress
Neil the question is should I build the the board like the SDM one or the Ceriatone. They are very different.

Re: Blues Breaker In Progress
The two trems are very different. The Ceritone is more like an 18w and the SDM one a more authentic BB type using a JFET. In hteory the JFET version should work better and be more stable (the 18w type works but can be a bit picky about tube type and be a bit unstable) however I know people have also had problems getting the MM type to work properly too.
You could ask George?
Good luck
